

Dr. Wendy W. Sun is the Assistant Medical Director of the NYP Allen Hospital Emergency Department and Assistant Attending Physician practicing at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. She subsequently obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies. She then completed Residency in Emergency Medicine at Yale - New Haven Health where she served as Chief Resident. Following that, she stayed at Yale as the Administrative Fellow, earning a Master's of Business Administration at the Yale School of Management. Dr. Sun is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Sun is passionate about clinical operations, patient quality and safety, physician well-being, and health Innovation. Dr. Sun is an active member of Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), American College of Physicians, Medical Center Insurance Company (MCIC), Emergency Medicine Workforce Taskforce of All-EM Groups, Emergency Medicine Residents' Association (EMRA), and American Academy of Emergency Medicine – Resident and Student Association (AAEM-RSA). Having served as a past President of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Residents and Medical Students (SAEM RAMS) and the Resident Member on the SAEM Board of Directors, she continues to be invested in the advancement of Emergency Medicine through research, mentorship, and education.
