Sarah Garcia, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University. She is a licensed psychologist at the Columbia University linic for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CUCARD)--Westchester. Dr. Garcia received her BA in psychology from Dartmouth College and PhD in clinical psychology from Georgia State University. She completed her postdoctoral training in clinical psychology and developmental psychopathology at the University of Denver. She continued this work as a Research Assistant Professor and study therapist testing whether providing evidence-based psychotherapy to prenatally depressed and anxious women can positively affect their infants' developmental trajectories.
