iconAbout Robert B. Maniker, MD

Robert Maniker received an MD from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI in 2005 followed by internship at University of Michigan and Anesthesiology residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He then completed fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard University in Boston, MA. Following fellowship, Dr. Maniker took a faculty position at the Mayo Clinic of Phoenix, AZ where he practiced a mixture of pain medicine and regional anesthesia.

Dr. Maniker joined the faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center in January of 2011. He is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at CUMC, member of the Division of Orthopedic and Regional Anesthesia, and Director of the Acute Perioperative Interventional Pain Service. He practices regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine, specializing in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks for management of post-surgical pain.

Dr. Maniker has research interests in strategies to limit blood loss during orthopedic surgery, as well as in comprehensive resident education for regional anesthesia.
