He then underwent residency training in neurology at Albany Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in behavioral neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center while simultaneously earning a master's degree in epidemiology.
