Nasim A. Chowdhury, MD, FAAPMR, is a physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR) physician, or "physiatrist," at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Queens and the Chief of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Before his tenure at NYPQ, he was at Weill Cornell Medicine, where he served as the Medical Director of Cancer Rehabilitation and staffed the institution's inpatient rehabilitation unit.

Dr. Chowdhury provides a wide array of care to patients with musculoskeletal and neurological issues, including spinal cord and brain injuries, sports injuries, arthritis, stroke, and spasticity. He has a particular focus on cancer patient rehabilitation, utilizing cutting-edge technology such as high-resolution ultrasound for highly targeted treatments.

He also serves as a clinical preceptor for Cornell and Columbia medical students and as a mentor for students worldwide, culminating in his award as the inaugural "Michael O'Dell Mentor of the Year."

With a multifactorial approach to patient care, Dr. Chowdhury utilizes traditional therapies such as medications and non-operative procedures. As a certified nutritional therapist, he also incorporates lifestyle modifications, including dietary recommendations, specific exercise regimens, and supplement use. He practices medicine that is patient-centric, focusing on safe, well-researched treatments that are customized for each patient that is safe and individually tailored.
