Dr. Melanie Krongold is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has extensive training in advanced pulmonary procedures and critical care interventions. Dr. Krongold is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at CUIMC.
Dr. Krongold earned her medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. John's Riverside Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Chemistry from Wagner College. She completed her pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Lincoln Medical Center.
Her clinical interests include interventional pulmonology, asthma care equity, and infectious disease complications in critically ill patients. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally at conferences such as CHEST and the American Thoracic Society.
Dr. Krongold is an active member of the American College of CHEST Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She currently serves on the CHEST Asthma & COPD Network Committee in a Fellow-in-Training role.
She is fluent in English and conversational in Spanish. Outside of medicine, Dr. Krongold enjoys cycling, baking, and spending time with her dog, Cooper.
