iconAbout Lusha Liang, MD, MS

Lusha Liang, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University and Attending Physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Liang received her medical degree with honors from Weill Cornell Medical College. She completed her internship and internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and underwent additional training in advanced echocardiography at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. During this time, she also obtained her masters degree in Patient Oriented Research from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her research focuses on improving outcomes in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Dr. Liang sees patients in the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center, where she specializes in the diagnosis and management of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center utilizes all the resources at the medical center to provide comprehensive care including advanced cardiac imaging, invasive septal reduction therapies (septal myectomy or alcohol septal ablation) when indicated, and cardiogenetics.

In her clinic, Dr. Liang also sees patients with general cardiovascular disease including hypertension, high cholesterol, valvular and coronary heart disease, and heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Liang is also an Attending physician at Columbia University Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Ultrasound laboratory where she performs and interprets stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and transthoracic echocardiograms. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Echocardiography. In her practice, she strives to provide cutting edge cardiovascular care that is compassionate and patient-centered.
