Dr. John Mascari is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Dartmouth College and his M.D. from Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of California San Diego, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in healthcare innovation at Stanford University's Biodesign program. He then completed a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Northwestern University and is board certified in Pediatrics.
Dr. Mascari's translational research spans medical technology development and global health. His primary research interest is improving patient care through the design and testing of devices for newborns that are sustainable in real-world settings. He has tackled these challenges in both Tanzania and the United Kingdom, addressing health system issues unique to each setting. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Mascari is dedicated to teaching, mentorship, and advancing innovation that centers the unique needs of neonatal patients, their families, and the clinicians who care for them.
