Dr. Jacqueline Lonier is a board-certified endocrinologist specializing in the care of adults with diabetes. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and serves as Associate Director of the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, where she leads clinical programs focused on diabetes care. Dr. Lonier has particular expertise in type 1 and type 2 diabetes management, diabetes technology (including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring), atypical diabetes, and diabetes care during pregnancy.
Dr. Lonier is an active investigator in multiple NIH- and foundation-funded clinical trials focused on diabetes treatment and technology. She currently serves as site principal investigator for several national studies, including trials of immune therapies for type 1 diabetes, real-world outcomes in people with type 2 diabetes, and novel insulin delivery systems. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and has served on national advisory committees related to diabetes care.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr. Lonier is a dedicated educator and mentor to medical students, residents, and fellows at Columbia.
