Dr. Bruce Gutierrez is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and is an assistant attending physician in both the Department of Emergency Medicine and Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. He also serves as an Assistant Professor in clinical emergency medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Gutierrez received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Brown University. He later earned his medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech and completed his emergency medicine residency at the Jacobi/Montefiore Medical Centers in the Bronx. He then finished a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His special interests include incorporating palliative care principles in the emergency department, medical education, and simulation medicine.
