Dr. Brittany Lattanza, MD, is a pediatric nephrologist, who cares for infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of kidney diseases. These include high blood pressure, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and kidney transplantation.
Dr. Lattanza was drawn to being a pediatric nephrologist because she wanted to form lifelong relationships with patients and their families. She believes that caring for a child with kidney disease means to care for the whole patient and their family. This involves the coordination and care of the multidisciplinary team, which includes nursing, nutrition, and social work. It is a privilege for her to be a part of this team, and to help educate patients and families about the kidneys and their role in their health.Dr. Lattanza completed her pediatrics training at Columbia University Medical Center and completed her pediatric nephrology training at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her research interest has been in quality of life in pediatric kidney disease, which aligns with her belief that caring for the entire patient, and not just their kidney disease, can help a child thrive. She also has a strong passion for medical education and works closely with medical students, pediatric residents, and pediatric nephrology fellows to teach them how to care for children with kidney diseases.
